Where did
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
come from?
A therapeutic approach that evolved from Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Ericksonian hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy grew from two powerful approaches in modern therapy....
Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) showed that people often make meaningful progress when they focus on their strengths, possibilities and the future they want to build.
At the same time, Ericksonian hypnotherapy introduced a gentle, indirect style of working that uses stories, imagery and soft suggestions to help people access the natural abilities of their subconscious mind.
These two therapies, one centred on future possibilities and the other on subconscious resourcefulness, were later combined into an uplifting approach that blends positive, forward-focused conversations with calming hypnosis.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy supports meaningful change by helping people gently move towards what they want, even if they currently feel stuck or overwhelmed. It offers a calm, supportive way of creating change without needing to revisit difficult memories or analyse past experiences.
